In 2021 the RI Historical Records Advisory Board, with support from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), will be awarding limited funding, up to $1,000 per person, to individuals working and studying in Rhode Island institutions seeking professional development in archives. As part of the program recipients will be required to share a short blog post (300-600 words) of their experience and subjects learned, as well as a brief presentation (5-10 min) at a workshop in December 2021 or February 2022 to provide new information from the year’s educational opportunities.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until December 1, 2021. Preference will be given for courses that occur between July 01, 2021 – December 31, 2021. Scholarship funds may be used for course and conference registration fees and other related costs.
Recipients will be required to submit a short blog post for the RIHRAB website to be shared with the Rhode Island archival community, as well as give a brief virtual presentation (5-10 minutes) to the RI Historical Records Advisory Board in February 2022 summarizing their experiences, and how they intend to apply their learning.
Archivists, students, and information professionals in Rhode Island seeking professional development in archives are encouraged to apply.
