In 2022 the RI Historical Records Advisory Board, with continued support from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), will be awarding limited funding, with a maximum of $1,000 per person, to individuals working and volunteering in Rhode Island institutions seeking professional development in archives. Previous awardees attended opportunities provided by SAA, RBMS, and New England Archivists.
As part of the program recipients will be required to share a short blog post (300-600 words) of their experience and subjects learned.
Preference will be given for courses that occur between July 01, 2022 – December 31, 2022. Scholarship funds may be used for course and conference registration fees and other related costs.
Recipients will be required to submit a short blog post for the RIHRAB website to be shared with the Rhode Island archival community, as well as give a brief virtual, Lightning Talk presentation (5-10 minutes) in 2022 summarizing their experiences, and how they intend to apply their learning.
Archivists, students, and information professionals in Rhode Island seeking professional development in archives are encouraged to apply.
